POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the cleanliness, repair and maintenance of the building and grounds at CrossTimbers. This position is required to live on camp grounds full-time in the summer and at least part-time during the rest of the year. Housing will be provided. This position does require being on call periodically.
Status: Full-time
Salary & Benefits: Wage based on experience. Position includes benefits such as medical and dental.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for general maintenance of all camp buildings, equipment, fixtures and water areas.
2. Responsible for grounds keeping. Maintains all grass areas and areas around all buildings.
3. Responsible for the cleanliness of all buildings and grounds.
4. Maintains adequate inventory of all necessary maintenance supplies.
5. Responsible for the supervision of summer facilities staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The incumbent must be 21 years of age, in good health and have a valid driver’s license. This position requires experience as a general handyman (carpentry, plumbing, electric, etc.). The ability to handle large machinery (tractor) is essential.

Camp Manager Job Description:
- Basic Function:
- Serve as the manager of the Bambi Lake Retreat and Conference Center in residence at the camp. The camp manager is responsible for the administration of the camp and for assuring the care, safety and protection of campers.
- Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must be a committed Christian, a member of a local church and doctrinally in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- Must have proven experience and skill in working with church leaders.
- Possesses a contagious Christian testimony
- Must have experience in camp settings
- Professional Qualifications:
- Have administrative/management experience in organized camp or similar program
- An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- Skilled in strategic thinking and planning, budgeting, team building and personal development as an individual.
- Specific Duties:
- Oversee the total operations of the camp facility including lodging facilities, food services, housekeeping, registration, bookkeeping, maintenance and public relations.
- Working with the trustees, plan and manage an annual budget.
- Recruit and manage all salaried, hourly and volunteer personnel.
- Oversee the scheduling and registration of events and campers.
- Provide for an “on call” availability for a staff member during camp events
- Anticipate and strategize with Trustees to meet future needs for upkeep and improvement of camp facilities.
- Relate to all local, township and state government agencies.
- Submit all financial, attendance reports and other information/data to the trustees as requested.
- Relationships
- Responsible directly to the Bambi Lake Board of Trustees
- Maintain a positive working relationship with the churches and leadership of the Baptist State Convention of Michigan

- Is an active member of a local Southern Baptist church.
- Be active in fundraising and work with the Bambi Lake Advancement team
- Must have a heart for sharing the love of Christ with people of all ages and stages, caring for them as Jesus would.
Job Overview:
The Food Service Manager directs the overall food-service operation of the camp, including purchasing, preparation, nutrition, service, sanitation, security, personnel management, customer service, and record keeping.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the camp food and dining service, including coordinating activities between the kitchen, dining room, and catering on and off campus.
- Oversee the inventory and ordering of food, equipment, and supplies and arrange for the routine maintenance, sanitation, and upkeep of the camp kitchen, equipment, and facilities.
- Manage all administrative and human-resource functions regarding kitchen and dining room employees.
- The Food Service person will be assigned housekeeping duties and other camp needs in the off-summer months
- This position would contribute to strategic discussions on guest services, budget development, and capital planning.
- Must function in other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience in institutional or large food service settings.
- Knowledge of and experience in food service: ordering, inventory, budgeting, food preparation, family-style serving, buffet serving, cleaning, and institutional kitchen equipment.
- Must hold current certification or licensure for operating a kitchen in the camp’s jurisdiction.
- Ability to work within a budget and purchase supplies efficiently.
- Experience in supervision.
